An American Airlines MD-80 aircraft headed to Chicago, carrying 140 passengers and five crewmembers, was forced to return to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport after the pilot reported light smoke in the cabin. Upon in safely landing at the airport, mechanics identified the source of the smoke from a small fluid leak in an auxiliary power unit. The problem was repaired quickly and used to ferry passengers to Chicago.
