CAAP reports airport traffic at 88% of pre-Covid level

Corporación América Airports has reported a 35.5% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic in February 2023, reaching 88.1% of February 2019 levels.

The group, which runs 53 airports in six countries, said the traffic weighed against pre-Covid levels, was down on January 2023, when passenger numbers hit 89.9% of the same month in 2019.

The group's airports in Armenia and Ecuador reported traffic above pre-pandemic levels, with Argentina above 90%. In Brazil, Italy and Uruguay, the three other countries where the group runs airports, traffic was between 70% and 90% of February 2019.

Cargo traffic across the group's operations hit 75% of 2019, with Brazil and Uruguay above the pre-pandemic month.
