Brussels Airlines recently revealed the first look of its brand new A320neo that will be entering the fleet this year. The aircraft was painted in Brussels colours at Airbus’ facility in Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) and will enter service in October. Brussels Airlines has a total of five A320neos on order, with all five aircraft due to arrive by the end of 2024.
Interestingly in 16-year history, Brussels Airlines has never flown a brand-new aircraft, having always relied on second-hand planes.
Meanwhile the airline is expecting the arrival of the aircraft towards the end of August. Following delivery, the airline announced an official unveiling in September before the aircraft’s entry into service.
“With these new state-of-the-art aircraft, Brussels Airlines is taking an essential step in the modernization of its fleet and in the significant reduction of CO2 and noise emissions on its medium-haul network,” the airline said in a statement.
With the entry of Next-Gen jets, the airline plans to phase out older planes aiming at significant improvement in emissions and noise.
