Brussels Airlines extends term for head of finance

Nina Öwerdieck is to stay on as Brussels Airlines' chief financial officer for five more years, the Lufthansa Group airline's board has announced.

Öwerdieck has been part of the Brussels Airlines’ management board since 2020 and, the airline said, guided it through the "corona" pandemic with Dorothea von Boxberg, the chief executive, and Tilman Reinshagen, the chief operations officer.

“Under Nina’s leadership, Brussels Airlines has been able to exit the worst crisis ever in its history by achieving a very strong financial third quarter result in 2022," said Christina Foerster, a member of the Lufthansa Group Executive Board and chairwoman of the SN Airholding Board, who praised Öwerdieck's role in leading the airline's turnaround plan and early repayment of a Belgian government loan.

“I am grateful for the trust that the SN Airholding Board and Brussels Airlines are placing in me. The extension of my mandate allows me to continue working on a strong future for Belgium’s home carrier," Öwerdieck  said.
