British Airways recently took delivery of its sixth Boeing 787-10 aircraft. The two-and-a-half-year-old plane took off from Paine Field and landed at Heathrow to join ten other variants in the fleet. The airline is expected to take delivery of another six B787-10 soon.

British Airways took delivery of its first B787-10 in June 2020, at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic after almost a year and a half delay.

British Airways offers 256 seats in its 787-10 aircraft with eight seats in first class, 48 in business, 35 in premium economy, and 165 in economy. The airline claims to reduce its overall operational costs by using the plane, which is 25% more fuel efficient than the similar-sized commercial jets it is designed to replace.

Interestingly 50% of the aircraft’s primary structure, such as the fuselage and wing, is made of composite material with the engine nacelles made of serrated edges that help reduce the noise levels outside and inside the cabin by up to 60%.

British Airways flies its B787-10s mostly to North America and the Middle East covering destinations like New York JFK, Kuwait City, Montreal, Houston, Dubai, Miami, and Boston.
