British Airways is looking to add to its list of A350-100 aircraft, however, the delivery schedule for its full total of 18 aircraft that it has on order from Airbus could be harmed.
The airline's delivery of the new A350-1000s are scheduled to be by the end of 2022. However, it's being reported that Airbus is undertaking repairs to BA’s latest A350-1000, which was damaged in an “incident” at the manufacturer’s facility.
The British carrier will use the A350-1000s to replace its Boeing 747-400s, which are due to be phased out of BA’s mainline fleet by 2024.
Details of the incident have not been revealed at this time, although there is said to be surface damage to the aircraft.
