British Airways has been forced to divert two flights bound for Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel-Aviv due to rocket-fire from the Gaza Strip.
One of the International Airlines Group (IAG) carrier's flights landed instead in Larnaca on Cyprus on May 10, with the other sent to Athens before returning to London, according to flight tracking data.
Ben-Gurion Airport said the airport has been operating as usual despite the rocket fire, which has continued into May 12 after Israeli air force strikes into the Gaza Strip.
The mid-May flare-up, which is ongoing, followed a March suspension of operations at Ben-Gurion Airport due to protests against the government.
Ben-Gurion Airport is named after Israeli independence icon David Ben-Gurion, the country's first prime minister. Listed among TIME magazine's 100 most influential people of the 20th century, Ben-Gurion also has a university named after him in the Negev region of Israel.
