Bristow orders 10 new AW189 helicopters with options for 10 more
The Bristow Group has ordered 10 new Leonardo AW189 helicopters with options for an additional 10, which will be deployed to support Bristow’s search and rescue (SAR) and offshore transport missions. They are scheduled for delivery beginning this year and will augment the 21 AW189 helicopters already operated by Bristow worldwide. Bristow president and CEO Chris Bradshaw described the orders as part of Bristow’s fleet upgrade initiative “while taking a proactive approach to the evolving needs of [its] customers”. “In addition, this strategic investment will further our sustainability initiatives while driving EBITDA growth at attractive returns,” he confirmed. The new aircraft will also be capable of operating with sustainable aviation fuels in the future due to certification standards already received by Leonardo.
