Bristow Ireland receives paramedic-level regulatory recognition
Bristow Ireland has passed what it describes as ‘another major milestone towards delivering next generation Search and Rescue (SAR) aviation services in the country’ as its team prepares to transition to the new Irish Coast Guard aviation contract later this year. Following ‘a robust application and a series of detailed assessments,’ the company has received recognition from the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council as a Clinical Practice Guideline Service provider (Paramedic level). This means specialist medical teams onboard Bristow’s AW189 helicopters are cleared to work to national clinical guidelines when the service goes life. “This was an important piece of work and we have proved to the Irish regulator that we have the processes, skills and capabilities in place to deliver the right lifesaving medial care to people in urgent need,” concluded Bristow’s SAR medical manager Mike Henson.
