EVA Air expects Boeing strike to delay deliveries for 777F

EVA Air expects deliveries of its 777F aircraft to be delayed as a result of the Boeing strike.

The 777F is assembled at the Boeing factory in Seattle where the strike took place, as well as Washington state.

“Delivery schedules for the 777F were already facing delays due to global supply chain disruptions,” EVA Air spokesperson Larry Lai confirmed. “The recent labour strike by Boeing workers in Seattle has now brought all 777F deliveries to a complete halt. It is currently uncertain when deliveries will resume.”

However, Boeing put forward a new deal, including a 38% general wage increase, to its striking workers on Friday. The workers will vote on the new deal today.

According to EVA Air's website, it had nine 777F aircraft as of September 1, 2024.

Lai said the deliveries of 787 Dreamliner aircraft will continue, despite some delays caused by supply chain constraints. The 787 Dreamliner is assembled at Boeing's factory in Charleston, South Carolina.

“While global supply chain issues have caused delays in deliveries, the labour strike by Boeing workers in Seattle has not impacted the 787's production,” added Lai.

As of September 1, 2024, the Taiwanese airline had 15 787 Dreamliner aircraft in its fleet and expected delivery of 14 Dreamliner aircraft.
