Parata Air to start first operations at end of month

South Korea's Parata Air will launch its first operations at the end of September. This follows the issuance of its air operator certificate (AOC) by Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport earlier this month.

The airline will begin services from its base at Yangyang International Airport, with plans to gradually expand routes to Jeju Island. The airline will launch its website and ticket sales ahead of launching operations.

“We will do our best to provide reasonable and differentiated services with safe operation as the top priority,” said Parata Air CEO Yoon Chul-min.

The airline rebranded from Fly Gangwon after its acquisition by Winix — a Korean home appliance company — last year.

Parata Air has added its second aircraft, following its first A330-200 earlier this year, with the addition of an A320-200. The company expects to have a fleet of two A330s and two A320s by the end of the year.
