Fitch Ratings has downgraded Boeing from A+ to A due to the delay in its 787 and 747-8 aircraft programs. Boeing outlook is stable.
Boeing's first 787 is expected to be delivered in the third quarter some three years late. The 747-8 is also three years late and is expected to debut by midyear.
Fitch said other risks with the 787 program and "some weak credit metrics" also support the downgrade.
