Boeing is reported to be in advanced talks with AirBridgeCargo Airlines and its Moscow-based parent, Volga-Dnepr Group, to convert a year-old commitment into more than 10 firm orders for 747-8 freighters that will be announced at Farnborough 2016. Volga-Dnepr has stated that it plans to take all 20 747-8s it committed to last year.
Volga-Dnepr signed a memorandum of understanding to buy 20747-8 freighters at Paris 2015 and took delivery in November 2015 of the first two aircraft, that were white tails. Volga-Dnepr confirmed earlier this year that it is the unidentified buyer of two 747-8 freighters Boeing recorded in March 2016, with deliveries scheduled for this year to CargoLogicAir, a Volga-Dnepr subsidiary.
