Manufacturer Boeing is to "slowly and steadily" address supply chain bottlenecks, chief executive Dave Calhoun said, warning of a "tough" 2023.
Calhoun told US news broadcaster CNBC that the supply chain hold-ups should ease in 2024, but forecast up to a year of "whack-a-mole" in the meantime.
"This is not a one quarter, two quarter fix", he said, speaking the day Boeing confirmed a US record order of up to 200 of its widebody aircraft from United Airlines.
Supply chains across many industries and economic sectors have faced difficulties since pandemic restrictions were imposed in early 2020, altering consumer demand and placing obstacles in front of international trade.
