Romanian low-cost airline Blue Air, which halted operations last week, has indicated that it plans to cancel all operations until October 10. The airline stated on September 6 that it would suspend flights for one week after its bank accounts were frozen due to its non-payment of a €2million fine.
"In the last 48 hours, the executive management, Board of Directors and shareholders of Blue Air found that ticket sales were significantly affected and payment processors blocked the amounts collected so far, so the company does not currently have the necessary funds to pay for fuel and other operational expenses for the flights planned starting with September 12," Blue Air said last week.
Tarom aircraft were utilised to repatriate Romanians stranded abroad.
