Bermudair applies for foreign air carrier permit with the US DOT

A startup boutique airline called Bermudair is all set to launch with plans to shuttle travellers between Bermuda island and US. Bermudair Limited recently filed a request for a foreign air carrier permit with the United States Department of Transportation.

The airline plans to start shuttle service with two leased Embraer E175 with 30 premium seats. The company added an aircraft previously owned by Flybe. Interestingly, while operating for Flybe, this plane had 88 economy class seats, so capacity will be cut by nearly two-thirds.

Bermudair is planning six days a week flight, twice daily from Bermuda to Westchester County Airport. The airline will initially serve Boston and Fort Lauderdale once daily but will expand its services with demand.

Adam Scott will be the CEO of the airline while John Bavister will serve as the CFO. Both the names are behind Odyssey Airlines, which was an airline startup that intended to operate all-business class transatlantic flights from London City Airport (LCY) using Airbus A220s but didn’t launch commercially.
