BARIG admits AJet as new airline member

The Board of Airline Representatives in Germany (BARIG) has admitted Turkish low-cost carrier AJet as a new airline member, expanding its community of international operators.

AJet is a rapidly growing subsidiary of Turkish Airlines and operates services across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia. The carrier serves 34 countries, with 59 international destinations alongside more than 40 domestic routes within Türkiye. In Germany, AJet currently operates from eight airports.

The airline operates a fleet of around 90 aircraft, including Airbus A320neo and A321neo models as well as Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Under current plans, the fleet is expected to more than double to around 200 aircraft within the next decade, alongside expansion to more than 50 countries.

BARIG said AJet’s focus on modern, fuel-efficient aircraft and targeted network development aligned with the association’s objectives, while AJet said membership would support its strategic growth in one of its key European markets.
