BAE SYSTEMS WINS MAJOR FOKKER 100 REMARKETING MANDATE FROM AVIANCA-TACA GROUP

Hatfield, Hertfordshire…..BAE Systems has been selected by AviancaTaca – one of Latin America’s largest airline groupings – to exclusively remarket Fokker 100 jet airliners for sale. The Fokker 100s, Initially 6 aircraft with msns 11449, 11469, 11479, 11414, 11482 and 11582 built between 1992 and 1994, with Rolls Royce Tay 650-15 engines will be released on a planned and gradual basis for remarketing from now through to June 2012. This important mandate builds upon the performance of BAE Systems in successfully remarketing eight Boeing MD83 jet airliners on behalf of Avianca. In addition to these Fokker 100s, BAE Systems’ Asset Management team has current mandates to remarket a further 24 aircraft on behalf of various owners worldwide.

We have to wonder what the future for aircraft remarketing will be by 2020. With the retirement of entire fleets in some zones, age restrictions leading to early retirement and new aircraft being delivered at pace it will certainly be an eventful side of the aviation sector to be involved with.  Look to the Aerospace Investment Journal 2011 Leasing and Finance Guide (out in June) for an overview of where we are headed and why aircraft remarketing will be near the top  of a list of worries for virtually every aircraft owner before the end of this decade.
