The UK conciliation service Acas has sated it was finding it difficult to get British Airways management and the Unite union to agree on a time for talks. A date is hoped to be set for sometime next week.
Meanwhile a UK newspaper revealed that the Unite leader Len McCluskey has written to the general secretary of the British Airline Pilots Association (Balpa) Jim McAuslan requesting that pilots block BA's strike-breaking plans by refusing to carry out cabin crew duties as many did in the past. Balpa stated that it remains impartial in the dispute.
