The very first private airline in Azerbaijan, Turan air has been liquidated. The announcement was made by the State Tax Service under the Ministry of the Economy.
The announcement note read: “Turan Air, which has the tax identification number (TIN) 1400394111, announces its liquidation and that creditors can submit their demands within two months to H. Aliyev International Airport, Khazar District, Baku, AZ-1044.”
The airline was operational between April 1994 with an authorized capital of $1.45 million and conducted its first flight in June 1995. The airline founders were Azerbaijan Airlines and Investment Trading International (ITI), based in US. The Azerbaijan Airlines left ownership in 1997.
The airline ceased operation in December 13, 2013.
The airline operated flights out of Baku and Lenkoran to destinations Ekaterinburg, Surgut, Novosibirsk, and Kazan International.
