Azerbaijan Airlines to commence three new routes to Pakistan

Azerbaijan Airlines is expanding its routes and will soon start nonstop flights to three different cities in Pakistan, namely Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. The nonstop flights will begin on September 20, 2023 later this year. The new routes aim to promote tourism and strengthen diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

In addition to expanding its destinations, Azerbaijan Airlines has also ordered more Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A320neo variations to upgrade its fleet and improve fuel efficiency.

The first new route will connect Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD), Baku to Islamabad International Airport (ISB) twice weekly Wednesdays and Saturdays, starting September 20.

The second route will connect Baku to Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE) in Lahore, twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays starting September 20.

The third route will connect Baku to Pakistan's busiest international airport, Jinnah International Airport (KHI), operating twice weekly every Thursdays and Sundays starting September 21.

The alternating days for its new routes provide a flexible schedule for its new travelers.

“The three new cities are important historical and cultural centers of Pakistan. This makes the cities very interesting destinations and the airline should see an influx of travelers as the routes launch,” commented a spokesperson for Azerbaijan Airlines. “The new routes would promote tourism, and international transportation, and also strengthen the diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.”
