AWAS PROVIDES FIVE 737-800S TO GOL

Dublin based aircraft lessor, AWAS, has announced it has agreed with the Brazilian-based airline GOL to enter into a purchase and lease back agreement for five Boeing 737-800s that the carrier had previously ordered directly from the manufacturer for May 2011-February 2013 delivery.

To assist GOL with its plans for fleet-type consolidation, modernization and expansion, AWAS has also agreed to an early return of two Boeing 767-300ER aircraft that do not meet GOL’s immediate fleet needs.  AWAS has already secured new long-term homes for these aircraft.

“We are very pleased to be entering into this arrangement with AWAS and to expand our existing relationship,” said Constantino Oliveira Jr, CEO and founder, GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes.  “The AWAS team demonstrated to us their dedication and flexibility: understanding our business requirements, and meeting our operational needs with the right financial solution.”

“AWAS is proud to be able to deliver this fleet solution to GOL.” said Ray Sisson, president & CEO, AWAS.  “We believe that this is the type of innovative, customer-focused solution that well-defines what AWAS stands for.”
