AWAS delivers first A320 to Philippine Airlines

Dublin-based global aircraft lessor, AWAS, has delivered the first of two new Airbus A320 aircraft to Philippine Airlines (PAL).

PAL President Ramon S. Ang said: “We are extremely pleased to receive this A320 from AWAS, which is on top of the over 60 aircraft ordered by PAL from Airbus in the last two months, and to add them as a business partner. The AWAS team proved their value in providing us with quick access to newly built aircraft that we could custom configure to our specifications. We look forward to expanding our relationship with them in the near future.”

The new A320s will support the airline's ongoing fleet modernization program in response to regional demand and expansion opportunities.

Ray Sisson, President & CEO AWAS said: "This is a special day for AWAS to welcome Philippine Airlines as a valued customer. Their over 70-year history of service in the region is testament to their commitment that began when they launched as Asia's first commercial airline."

"The entire AWAS team, from Sales to Technical is very proud to deliver our first aircraft to Philippine Airlines," said Jon O'Connell, Managing Director Asia for AWAS. "We listened to their unique needs and quickly proposed a solution that provided the right aircraft, at the right terms to aid their planned development." PAL is one of the most respected airlines around the world with a modern fleet of aircraft and a route network that spans 26 foreign cities as well as 19 domestic points.
