JetSMART receives 50th aircraft

JetSMART has received an A321neo aircraft from lessor Avolon, marking the 50th aircraft in its fleet.

The delivery also marks the final delivery of four A320neo family aircraft from the lessor. The four leased aircraft will support the replacement and growth of the airline's narrowbody fleet.

“The addition of these new-technology aircraft enhances our operational efficiency and gives us the flexibility to expand our network, delivering low-fare travel to passengers across South America,” said JetSMART CEO Estuardo Ortiz.

“The four aircraft we are leasing will support JetSMART's growth strategy to better connect Latin America, one of the world's fastest-growing aviation markets,” said Avolon president and chief commercial officer Paul Geaney.

The South American carrier flies to over 50 destinations from its hubs in Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Colombia.
