Aviation News Ltd has been honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2019.
Aviation News Ltd is one of 201 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Announced today (Tuesday 23 April), Aviation News Ltd has been recognised for its excellence in international trade.
Employing eight people in Staffordshire, Aviation News Ltd was set up in 2010 and produces industry journals and organises global conferences serving the international aviation finance and leasing industry.
From humble beginnings, and being entirely self-funded, Aviation News has grown from a team of three co-founders, husband and wife team Philip and Victoria Tozer-Pennington, and equity partner and friend Dino D’Amore, to eight employees, now based in Trent Vale, Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire, UK.
Aviation News has shown triple-digit revenue growth in every one of its eight years of business, while profit margin during the eight years of account has averaged at 35% rising to 41% in the most recent year, despite launching on average one new event per annum which depresses margins. All the while Aviation News Ltd has been able to keep prices to all customers at the lowest levels seen in the industry. In the past five years, Aviation News has turned over a percentage of profits each year to various aviation and cancer charities and continues to do so with pride.
“We are thrilled to receive this recognition of our six years of consistent growth in international trade,” say Philip and Victoria Tozer-Pennington & Dino D’Amore, directors and co-founders of Aviation News Ltd. “Starting a new business while raising young families and expanding organically is not an easy task, but this award makes all of those late nights and working weekends more than worth it. We are continuing to grow internationally.”
Now in its 53rd year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the United Kingdom, with winners personally approved by Her Majesty The Queen.
Aviation News Ltd will celebrate its award during a royal reception for Queen’s Awards winners in the summer at Buckingham Palace.
