Aviation disputes partner leaves Fladgate LLP to set up boutique practice

Bree Taylor has left her roles as Head of Dispute Resolution and Head of Aviation at London firm Fladgate LLP to start Alius Law a boutique firm with a specialist contentious aviation team.  Taylor is joined by New York qualified attorney Reece Davison, solicitor Victoria Prince and barrister Lisle Chase. The firm has an alternative business structure which allows it to source specialist legal resource and to offer a one-stop-shop for legal advice and court work.

The firm launched on 1 January 2021 and claims that since that time has filed for its clients “more aviation claims in the High Court than any other UK firm of solicitors”, which the company states reflects the firm's “strong client base and the reported sharp increase in lawsuits involving companies in the aviation industry over the last 12 months”.

Alius Law acts mainly for aircraft owners/lessors and is involved in a case concerning rent claims, return conditions and disputes over sale and purchase agreements for fleets of aircraft.

“We are delighted to have been able to provide so much support for our clients during this unprecedented time of turmoil for the Aviation sector. Not all of our work involves court action. We try to find solutions and work through to achieve the best outcome for the client.,” says Bree Taylor.

“We are proud to continue to deliver advice and strategic oversight, operating from a platform that keeps costs down.  Starting the firm in the middle of the lockdown had its challenges but the time was right," says Reece Davison.
