Avia Solutions Group acquires Skytrans

The world’s largest ACMI provider, the Avia Solutions Group, has signed a Share Purchase Agreement to acquire Australian airline Skytrans.

The acquisition of the Australian-owned airline and air charter business will grant the Avia Solutions Group an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) In Australia, allowing it to operate both passenger and cargo flights. Skytrans currently operates a regional fleet of 13 aircraft.

“Becoming part of the group will give us the chance to benefit from the best business practices and experience, as well as expanding our operations, fleet and geographical reach, while strengthening our position in the market,” said Skytrans CEO Alan Milne.

CEO of Avia Solutions Group Jonas Janukenas added that he sees “significant potential and growth opportunities” in the new Australian addition to the group’s global footprint.

Avia Solutions Group currently holds 11 AOCs around the world. By the end of 2024, it aims to establish and acquire a further seven airlines in various countries, including Brazil, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia and Turkey.
