Avelo Airlines is all set to launch a second route to San Juan, Puerto Rico marking its first nonstop route from Wilmington to outside the continental United States. The flights will commence from November 15 from Wilmington Airport to San Juan.
The airline recently added Puerto Rico to its network and is rapidly expanding its network. Since its launch in 2021 the airline covers almost 50 destinations in 25 states with over 20,000 flights and carried over three million passengers.
“Today’s historic service expansion is the latest example of the smooth and seamless travel experience Avelo is bringing to the four-state Delaware Valley region,” commented Andrew Levy, chief executive, Avelo. “With the second-largest Puerto Rican community in the US, Avelo is making it easier than ever for friends and family to reconnect on both ends of this exciting new Caribbean route."
Besides the above route, the airline will also introduce a new domestic route to Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida with twice weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays. The airline will deploy its B737-800 on the route.
