The Australian Federal Government's decision on Sydney's second airport that begins construction in 2016 is starting to raise fears that regional airlines will be pushed out of the current Sydney hub after completion of the new airfield. The Regional Airline Association stated; "We don't want to see any regional company flying to Sydney airport to be encouraged or pushed out to a new airport. That new airport has to stand alone.
