Aurigny to replace only jet with two leased ATR 72-600s

Guernsey airline Aurigny is to sell its only jet, an E195, and replace it with two leased ATR 72-600 aircraft.

The move marks what Nico Bezuidenhout, CEO of Aurigny, described as “the beginning of a significant push towards running a more cost-effective and efficient airline,” adding his hopes that the extra flexibility offered by the second aircraft would “have a positive impact on the overall experience of [Aurigny’s] customers”.

Replacement of the fleet’s only Embraer jet (in service with the airline since 2014) will augment Aurigny’s three ATR 72-600s currently in service, increasing the availability of Aurigny pilots current on the type.
