ATSG appoints Greg Mays as CEO

Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) has appointed Greg Mays as CEO, the company announced today (December 17).

Mays' appointment will be effective January 1, 2026.

“I am excited to continue working with our talented teams in my new role as we continue to innovate and expand ATSG’s capabilities with a steadfast focus on safety, operational and financial excellence, and best-in-class service,” said Mays.

Mays will succeeds Mike Berger as CEO, who will retire after stepping down.

“I am proud of all that we accomplished together and am confident that ATSG has a bright future ahead under Greg’s leadership," said Berger. "He has already made a tremendous impact in his first few months at ATSG, and I know the company is in good hands as I enter retirement.”

Mays was appointed president of ATSG in September 2025. Previously, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Sun Country Airlines.

Earlier in his career, he supported Alaska Airlines in strengthening its maintenance, engineering, and labour relations. He also spent over a decade at Delta Air Lines, overseeing complex global operations in maintenance, ground handling, and cargo.
