The French Ministry of Finance has just granted the turboprop aircraft manufacturer, ATR, its Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status. Having obtained this label, ATR will benefit from a streamlined customs process, meaning greater responsiveness for delivering aircraft, shipping spare parts and equipment to operators, as well as for receiving equipment for the aircraft's final assembly line.
Recognized across the European Union and in countries with recognition agreements such as the United States, Canada, China and Japan, the AEO label also exempts from providing certain financial guarantees. Moreover, the AEO label is welcomed during a period of strong growth for ATR, both in commercial and industrial activities, enabling its 180 operators to benefit from even more efficient and simplified customs procedures when dealing with ATR.
As a major global player in aeronautics, ATR currently issues over 3000 customs declarations per month. The AEO label was granted after verification of ATR’s import and export records, recognizing the aircraft manufacturer's reliability and efficiency over time with regards to trade processes and transport management.
