Atlas Air secures $90 million senior financing for three 747 freighter aircraft
Atlas Air has secured $90 million senior debt financing from Investec Aviation Finance for the acquisition of three 747-400 freighter aircraft. ""The 747-400F forms an integral part of Atlas’ dedicated large widebody freighter capacity, and the acquisition of these aircraft demonstrates our commitment to providing unparalleled support for global supply chains,"" said Atlas Air CFO and executive vice president Artem Gonopolskiy. ""Atlas appreciated Investec’s solutions-oriented structure and efficient transaction execution."" Investec was able to structure and underwrite a transaction within a month for the acquisition of the three aircraft that are fundamental to the Atlas Air strategy of supporting key supply chains globally in a growing e-commerce marketplace. ""The success of the transaction highlights our own leading capabilities in finding pragmatic solutions and structuring for all transaction types,"" said Investec Aviation Finance's Clayton Woollgar. Atlas Air has a fleet of more than 90 dedicated long haul freighter aircraft.
