Atlantic Airways launches direct New York flights

Atlantic Airways recently operated its inaugural flight to New York from Vagar Airport (FAE) in the Faroe Islands. The flight covered a distance of six hours and landed at Stewart Airport (SWF), New York.

The flight to New York had limited seating of 150 seats due to fuel constraints. Atlantic Airways had originally planned on serving seven round trips but reduced the number to five for this period with the last departure set for September 19, 2023. The airline will increase the flights on the New York route in the spring 2024, offering seven to ten round trips.

Atlantic Airways chose Stewart Airport due to favourable permit conditions, even though it’s a low-cost airport.

This route had been long anticipated as it will provide a direct link between Faroe Islands and New York.
