Aviation services company ASL Aviation has joined Fokker Next Gen's airline advisory group. The strategic partnership will see ASL Aviation collaborate with Fokker Next Gen to provide feedback into the development phase of the Fokker Next Gen aircraft.

Fokker Next Gen is building a commercial aircraft "built around liquid hydrogen".

The Fokker Next Gen airline advisory group is being assembled to capture customer needs, learn from daily aircraft operations, and explore the challenges and solutions related to hydrogen-powered aircraft.

ASL Aviation's role will largely see it provide insights from the cargo and passenger sector.

"Being a member of this group further strengthens ASL's commitment to supporting companies that are at the forefront in the introduction of new emissions reduction technologies," said ASL Aviation Holdings director Hugh Flynn.

Fokker Next Gen CEO Juriaan Kellermann said: "The insights they bring from the cargo side of the industry will be invaluable as we continue developing aircraft that meet the evolving needs of air operators while pushing the boundaries of sustainability.
