ASI (Aircraft Support Industries) has inked a deal with Etihad Engineering to expand the capacity of its aircraft maintenance facility in Abu Dhabi. ASI will aid Etihad Engineering to expand its facility at the Abu Dhabi International Airport by 50,000 square meters along with the construction of two new widebody hangars.

“We are proud to be a part of this exciting project with Etihad Engineering, which highlights our capabilities in delivering world-class aviation infrastructure solutions,” said Mark Langbein, ASI’s Managing Director. “Our extensive experience in aircraft hangar design and construction, combined with our advanced engineering capabilities, will help Etihad Engineering achieve its expansion goals.”

The project will add a new widebody bay (H6D) to Hangar 6 previously designed and built by ASI in 2011 and which can accommodate three A380s simultaneously. The new widebody bay will also be large enough to take in an A380.
