Arena Aviation Capital has appointed Peter Blakeney as Managing Director.
As part of Arena’s strategic expansion, Blakeney will join the senior leadership team to spearhead the setup and growth of the Irish office, which added 12 aircraft to its lease portfolio during the first half of 2021 with further growth expected of at least a similar amount of aircraft during the second half of 2021
With the expansion of in-house capabilities and a growing portfolio, Arena described the establishment of an Irish office as an “essential milestone in the evolution of the company, necessary to best serve its investor and airline customer base”.
Patrick den Elzen, Co-Founder and CEO of Arena said: “We’re delighted to welcome Peter into the Arena family. Also for us, 2020 was a challenging year, but as we enter the second half of 2021 we are proud to have achieved a number of important milestones, including the opening of our Irish office, expansion of our investment base, renewed growth of our aircraft portfolio, and entry into new business sectors such as P2F conversions. This positions Arena to even better serve our customer base while opportunistically seeking further growth. The appointment of Peter is another important step in the continual development cycle of the company; we wish him all the best in his new role and we look forward to working closely with all our new business partners.”
Blakeney was previously employed by Carlyle Aviation and AerCap.
