Archer's Midnight aircraft completes highest altitude test flight

Archer Aviation's electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft Midnight has completed its highest altitude test flight to date, reaching altitudes of 7,000 feet.

During this flight, the aircrew flew for 45 miles in total at speeds exceeding 120mph. The flight is the first in a series of upcoming performance test flights.

“Our test pilots will continue to safely and methodically test Midnight's speed, duration and mission profiles to prepare for early commercialisation operations,” said Archer founder and CEO Adam Goldstein.

Archer said the test flights play a key role as it advances towards FAA certification in the US and near-term commercialisation in the UAE.
