New low-fare Caribbean airline Arajet expects to offer over half a million seats in 2023 after ending 2022 as "a leading Dominican Republic-based carrier".
The airline carried around 81,000 passengers during its three months of operation to the end of 2022, with 17 routes in place. “I’m proud of what we have accomplished in just a short period of time,” said founder Víctor Pacheco.
“Since Arajet officially inaugurated operations in September, thousands of Dominicans who had never flown have been able to do so and we are excited to continue our positive impact in attracting tourists from destinations that had never been connected directly," said Pacheco, who is also Arajet's chief executive.
