APA files no confidence vote in Doug Parker

Last week the Allied Pilots Association passed a no-confidence vote in American Airlines Chairman and CEO Doug Parker, stating that the airline’s management had failed to implement the pilots’ contract signed in 2015 and is dragging its feet on pilot pay and other issues.

The vote was held after Parker missed an industry meeting with President Donald Trump, which Dan Carey, president of the Allied Pilots Association, described in a statement as having “shaken our confidence” in his judgment.

The airline hasn’t commented on the no-confidence vote, saying only that Parker missed the meeting with Trump because he attended a major employee leadership conference in Dallas on the same date.
