ANA sees profit slump 23% for FY 2018/2019 results

All Nippon Airways (ANA) profits slumped by 23% in its full year 2018/2019 results.

The airline's profit totalled JPY110.7 billion (approximately $998.3 million), down from JPY1.97 trillion recorded in the full year period during the financial year 2017/2018.

Meanwhile, the group's operating revenue was JPY2.058 billion, while operating income was JPY165.0 billion, both reaching a record high for the fourth consecutive year.

"It is our first time to exceed JPY2 trillion and, compared to last fiscal year, it increased by 4.4%, which is JPY86.5 billion," said Ichiro Fukuzawa, CFO, ANA. "ANA Group will strive to further enhance quality, and prepare for the capacity expansion of the Tokyo metropolitan airports from 2020."

The group also reported an increase in its international passengers, increasing from 9.3 million in 2017 by 3.6% to 10.09 million.
