American Airlines is planning to take delivery of seven Bombardier CRJ 900 NextGen aircraft. The airline announced that the new jets will be operated by PSA airlines over coming months.
This update to the fleet will bring PSA’s current total aircraft count to 141, consisting of 61 CRJ 700s and 80 CRJ 900s.
“The addition of these aircraft highlights American’s continued investment in PSA and provides us an opportunity to further modernize our fleet and to put an emphasis on American’s premium regional service offerings,” American Airlines said in a statement.
PSA operates American Eagle flights, the regional branch of American Airlines. PSA has more than 5,000 employees who are operating more than 800 daily flights to nearly 100 destinations on behalf of American Airlines.
PSA previously owned by US Airways that merged with American Airlines in 2015.
