American Airlines Group pilots have voted to accept a five-year contract that will raise their pay by 23% retroactive to December 2 and by another 3% above their original wages retroactive to January 1, plus another 3% in 2016 .

About 66 per cent of the pilots who voted cast their ballots voted for the contract, with a turnout of 94% of members, represented by the Allied Pilots Association.

"APA will now focus on further engagement with American Airlines management to address ongoing shortcomings in our contract," APA President Keith Wilson said.
