American Airlines is strengthening its network to the Caribbean and Latin America with the increase in capacity on ten route allowing passengers to have more options when traveling to destinations like the Bahamas, Mexico, Barbados, and Argentina, employing a wide variety of aircraft, from the Bombardier CRJ 700 to the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
In winter 2023, American will operate more than 2,250 weekly flights to 90 destinations in the region, marking a 10% increase in seat capacity compared to winter 2022.
Apart from the above the airline has also announced three new European cities, starting next summer, as it continues to build and expand its comprehensive global network. Starting the summer of 2024, the airline will add flights to Copenhagen (Denmark), Nice (France) and Naples (Italy).
Brian Znotins, senior vice president, network and schedule planning, American said: “American is thrilled to add three new European destinations. New service from Philadelphia and expanded trans-Atlantic service from Chicago and Dallas-Fort Worth will offer customers convenient one-stop access from more than 200 unique destinations across the US to Europe next summer.”
American will offer 15 daily nonstop flights from Philadelphia to 14 European destinations next summer, its largest trans-Atlantic schedule from Philadelphia since 2019. Starting May 6, American will launch service connecting Philadelphia and Nice.
Starting on June 5, American will inaugurate new service to Naples marking the airline’s fourth Italian destination and starting June 6 the airline will launch Copenhagen route.
This winter, American Airlines will also reinforce its status as the largest airline between the US and Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America by further expanding its largest-ever schedule to the region, with more flights to sunny destinations.
Additionally, American will launch new services across the Atlantic, including introducing the new route between Dallas Fort Wort and Barcelona for the first time. This route will begin on June 5, and the airline will operate it with a Boeing 777-200.
