ALM inks lease deals with Spirit and Volaris

UK-based Aircraft Leasing & Management (ALM) has concluded leasing arrangements with Spirit Airlines in the US and Mexican budget carrier Volaris.

ALM said it had acquired two Airbus A320neo jets on lease to Volaris and that it had concluded sale and leaseback deals for five more of the aircraft type with Spirit, which expects to take delivery during 2023-24.

Discussing the Volaris deal, for which ALM acted as transaction manager for Toky0-listed parent company Fuyo Lease Group, head of marketing Richard Dudley-Cave described the company as "excited to add another Mexican carrier to its portfolio".

"We are looking forward to forging a strong partnership with the airline on the back of this first sale and leaseback between the two companies," Dudley-Cave said of the Spirit deal.

"We are pleased to start a relationship with Fuyo Lease Group and ALM as we continue to grow our fleet and expand our international network of destinations. Spirit operates one of the youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets in the industry, and each of these new aircraft will allow us to continue to deliver the best value in the sky," said Simon Gore, vice president and treasurer Spirit Airlines.
