The Allegiant Travel company has reported a 3.2% increase in total passengers carried in the full year 2023 compared to the previous 12 months, with available seat miles also up 1.9%.
In 2023, Allegiant had a load factor of 85.9%, up 0.9 points from its full year 2022 total of 85.0%. A total of 116,044 departures were flown in 2023, representing a 1.7% increase on the year before.
In Q4 2023, the airline’s passenger numbers were up 4.6% compared to Q4 2022, with available seat miles up 5.7%. December specifically showed a better performance, with passengers numbers up 6.% and revenue passenger miles up 6.8% compared to the same month 2022.
However, the estimated cost of fuel per gallon has risen from $2.96 in December 2023 to $3.21 in Q4 2023, driving an average estimated cost of $3.09 per gallon for the full year 2023.
