Allegiant reports 13% y/y traffic increase

US carrier Allegiant recorded a 13% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic in February 2023 to slightly over 1.2 million.

Revenue passenger miles were up around 12% and available seat miles by 2.3%. The load factor topped 85%, a 7.6 percentage-point jump.

Traffic in February 2023 was about the same as the month before, when the roughly 1.2 million number represented a year-on-year jump of over 27%.

The company on February 2  reported a 34.8% increase in total operating revenue to $2.3bn for 2022, compared to the prior year period, and a 25% rise over 2019 figures.  Income before tax was $74 million with net income dipping slightly over last year to $2.5 million. Operating costs, excluding fuel, rose 11.1% over 2019.
