Air Lease Corporation has selected GEnx-1B engines to power its three new Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The engine order if valued at more than $170 million list price.
“Air Lease Corporation’s order for additional GEnx-powered Boeing 787 Dreamliners demonstrates the continued confidence in the engine and aircraft,” said Chaker Chahrour, VP Global Sales & Marketing at GE Aviation. “The GEnx is the most popular engine powering the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and has set itself apart in its class.”
The lessor has also placed an order Pratt & Whitney GTF engines to power a pre-existing order between Airbus and ALC for 26 firm A320neo family aircraft. ALC previously ordered GTF engines to power 30 firm A320neo family aircraft. With this announcement, ALC will manage a total of 56 GTF-powered A320neo family aircraft.

Also today, ALC finalized its order for additional CFM International LEAP-1B engines to power 83 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft at a value of $2.3 billion U.S. at list price.

ALC has also selected CFM International’s advanced LEAP-1A engine to power 34 previously announced Airbus A321neo aircraft in an order valued at just over $1.0 billion U.S. at list price.
