Akasa Air tops on-time performance charts, SpiceJet sinks to the bottom

Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) recently released its data projecting the on-time performance (OTP) by domestic carriers for the month of March 2023. India’s newest airline Akasa Air emerged as a clear winner clocking an impressive 94.5% OTP. Interestingly on the 1st, 22nd and 28th of March, the airline did not have a single delay and achieved an OTP of 100%.

SpiceJet suck to the bottom of the OTP charts with clocking 76.74%. The last day of March proved to be one of the worst for SpiceJet, with an OTP of 47.2%.

IndiGo came in second with an OTP of 92.4%, while Vistara and Go First had almost identical OTPs of 84.677% and 84.671%, respectively. The other two airlines under the Tata Group, AirAsia India and Air India, had the second lowest and third lowest OTP, respectively.
