India’s latest start-up airline is rapidly ramping up its domestic capacity with the addition of just 14th destination, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh (UP) within six months of launch. This is the airline’s second destination in UP where it began flying on December 25, 2022.
The airline will operate non-stop daily flights between Varanasi and Bengaluru starting February 18, 2023. Varanasi is an important Hindu pilgrimage city and holds immense cultural significance, attracting millions of tourists from both India and abroad
Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, said: “We are delighted to strengthen our nation-wide connectivity and announce our second destination in Uttar Pradesh with Varanasi. This is the 14th destination on our fast-expanding network. The city is a popular cultural hub of India and a place of pilgrimage for many devotees.”
Apart from that, the airline is also planning to connect to Goa by daily flight via Bengaluru.
So far, Akasa Air has carried over 1 million revenue passengers and crossed over 575 weekly flights.
Besides, Air has signed two contracts with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance through its wholly-owned subsidiary EPCOR, for both component and APU services.
